The White Elephant is ...kind of up and running.
The White Elephant is Westsyde's online thrift store. As with most of my projects, this too will be a work in progress. I would like to have community donations and work in conjunction with the local church groups, but first we will get it up and running, eh.
So browse through the shop, check out the wares. Help some locals refine their collections and give something a new home.
This site donates a portion of all proceeds to: Inter-Pares and that homeless guy de jour on Victoria St.
Thrift Prices or Collector?
Tough question. A lot of this stuff I have up here is from my personal collections. I do not want to give it away. This is not like the guys who phone you twice a week claiming they are from Big Brothers looking for donations. Don't get me wrong, Big Brothers is a great organization, but Value Village, Penny Pinchers, give them very little (I want to say Costsavers too but Gord is a good guy and he does give a portion of proceeds away) They are strictly in it FOR PROFITS (uh, like me), plus they charge close to what a new item would cost, and anything of value given to them never makes it on to the shelf, (also like me). Eh? I'll be quiet now.
